A few weeks back, I mentioned that some "safety vendors" sell non-compliant EXIT signs. I received several inquiries about what I was talking about, as if "surely it's not so." I am not going to call out these irresponsible safety vendors, but there are many! I have even seen EXIT signs that the entire sticker/sign was 4" X 4".
The following week, I came across this and used a tape measure to erase any questions!
As a refresher, this is the OSHA minimum for the size of the word EXIT...
1910.37(b)(7) Each exit sign must have the word "Exit" in plainly legible letters not less than six inches (15.2 cm) high, with the principal strokes of the letters in the word "Exit" not less than three-fourths of an inch (1.9 cm) wide.
